Siri’s new command on iOS 16 allows users to command to restart iPhone by voice instead of powering off and then reopening it with the press of a button.
On iOS 16, Apple added a new command for Siri to help users restart the device by voice. Restarting can fix some errors that cause iPhone to hang, slow down, or work improperly.
Previously, users could only restart iPhones by turning off the power and then turning it on or activating the force restart command.
However, the above methods require many steps of button manipulation.
To quickly restart iPhone by voice on iOS 16, users can follow these instructions:
– Step 1: Say “Hey Siri” to activate the virtual assistant
– Step 2: Say “Restart iPhone”.
– Step 3: When asked to confirm, say “Yes”.
Soon, the iPhone will restart. Similar to the other way of starting, users need to enter a passcode to activate Face ID or Touch ID on the device.
According to CNET, the voice restart method also applies to iPads running iPadOS 16.1 or later.
If you don’t have Siri enabled, you need to go to Settings > Siri & Search > Turn on the “Listen to Hey Siri” feature. If this option is turned off, users need to hold down the power button to activate the virtual assistant before giving commands.
