As we all have been waiting for this updates. Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge finally updated to Android 8 Oreo.
The Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge,
which are now over 2 years old, have already been updated to Android 8 Oreo at Verizon Wireless, AT&T, and Sprint.
This had left T-Mobile as the only major US carrier not to release Oreo for the Galaxy S7 series. Fortunately, as of today, some owners of T-Mo’s Galaxy S7 and S7 edge have started receiving the long-awaited Oreo update. According to a T-Mobile official, all users should get the update before the end of the week.
MORE ABOUT THE UPDATE
The Android Oreo updated for the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge weighs in at about 1.7 GB. In addition to the native features that Google has baked into Oreo, the new software iteration includes Samsung’s own Experience 9.0 UI (which you may have seen on the Galaxy S9 family). Furthermore, the update brings support for GSMA Universal Profile 1.0, which enables file transfers of up to 100 MB via messaging.
It’s likely that Oreo is the last major software update for the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge. Thus, if you own any of the two phones, you should probably not wait for Android P once this is launched by Google later in 2018.
