Launched Xiaomi 13 Lite “destruction price”

Xiaomi 13 Lite continues to become the focus of the mid-range smartphone segment thanks to improvements in performance and camera.

The Lite name is separate from the Xiaomi 13 Series. This is a mid-range product that uses a much lower-end chip than the high-end versions. This allows the product to be sold at half the price of what you pay for a Xiaomi 13 (not to mention the Pro model).

Xiaomi 13 Lite comes with Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chip with a 20% more powerful GPU. 30% higher AI performance than Snapdragon 778G inside Xiaomi 12 Lite. However, Xiaomi did not update the RAM and memory. While still using LPDDR4X and UFS 2.2, with two configurations to choose from 8/128 GB or 8/256 GB. The phone comes with a MIUIa 14 interface right out of the factory. It only relies on Android 12 instead of Android 13 like the higher-end Xiaomi 13 Series models.

Moving on to the camera, the Xiaomi 13 Lite uses a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor like on some high-end phones. It’s a 1/1.56-inch sensor with a 1.0µm pixel size (2.0µm when stitching is on). A combined f/1.8 aperture that can capture 123% more light than a 108MP sensor with f/1.9 lens on last year’s Xiaomi 12 Lite. There’s also an 8 MP ultra-wide camera (Sony IMX355 1/4 inch). With a 119-degree field of view and a 2 MP macro camera. Appears to be unchanged from last year.

On the 32MP front, there is additional support for an 8MP depth sensor. The duo is housed in the Dynamic Island-style camera hole on the screen. The depth sensor will be used to create a more natural-looking blur effect in selfies. The camera also has a 100-degree wide angle and automatically adjusts the frame of the shot for group photos.

Xiaomi 13 Lite has a 6.55-inch curved AMOLED display. This is a 12-bit panel that supports Dolby Vision, and HDR10+ and can display 68 billion colors. It uses PWM dimming technology at 1,920 Hz and has a typical brightness of 500 nits, peaking at 1,000 nits. This monitor has a resolution of 1,080 x 2,400px (20:9). Runs at a refresh rate of 120 Hz, and a touch sampling rate of 240 Hz. It is protected by curved Gorilla Glass 5. The back also has tempered glass (not Gorilla Glass) and the frame is made of plastic. The phone has an IP53 rating for dust and splash resistance.

The battery is also slightly improved compared to last year and is almost the same as the Xiaomi 13. Specifically, it has a capacity of 4,500 mAh (an increase of 200 mAh compared to Xiaomi 12 Lite). Supports 67W fast wired charging. Recharge from 0-100% in just 40 minutes. However, the phone does not support wireless charging.

Another notable feature remaining includes Dolby Atmos for audio, as well as wireless connectivity. With support for Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and NFC (note: NFC is not available in some regions). This is a dual SIM phone with 5G support thanks to the Snapdragon X62 modem.

Xiaomi 13 Lite weighs 171 grams and is 7.23 mm thick. Available colors at launch include Lite Blue, Lite Pink and Black.
