Main reason Android users switch to iPhone

# **The main reason why Android users switch to iPhone** **Most users give up Android to switch to iPhone because they are not satisfied with the experience on the old device.** After noticing the situation The highest number of Android users switching to iPhone in the past 5 years, *Consumer Intelligence Research Partners* (*CIRP*) continues to publish a survey showing the reasons for this shift. Accordingly, the leading cause is the experience with the old device. More than 53% of respondents said they switched to iPhone because of problems with Android smartphones. “Their older phones are not responsive, need repair, or have some shortcomings that affect the user experience,” the *CIRP* report states. The second most common reason is new iPhone features such as “better cameras, more accessory options, or a more intuitive user interface”. Although the market for mid-range and low-cost Android phones is very active, with many options, 15% of users are still “moving house” because they think choosing an iPhone will save money compared to equivalent Android smartphones. In the end, only 6% of people who switched from Android to iPhone said they chose for iMessage and FaceTime. The exclusive blue bubble when sending and receiving messages between devices with iMessage, often thought of as the cause of attracting users from a rival platform, is actually a factor with very little impact. In May, *CIRP* reported that 15% of new iPhone users owned an Android phone, the highest percentage since 2018. Another interesting figure is that 83% of iPhone buyers during this same time period owned an Apple device. Over the years, the iPhone has attracted loyal users thanks to the dominance of the Apple ecosystem. Previously, *CIRP*’s report also revealed that iPhone users tend to keep their devices longer before upgrading. This time increases year by year, except for 2022. Specifically, the percentage of iPhone users who have not upgraded for 3 years or more steadily increased from 26% in 2019 to 29% in the following year and 34% in 2021 – the highest rate according to the statistics of *CIRP*. However, in 2022, the trend suddenly reversed when the percentage of iPhone users for 3 years or more dropped sharply to 20%, bringing other groups to a significant increase. In 2023, the trend of users holding iPhones longer returned to the same as before, when up to 31% had used the device for 3 years or more. This could cause Apple to worry about demand for upcoming product lines.
